Demon Mistress Otherworld Book 6 Yasmine Galenorn Books
Im didn't write a review for the one before last, I didn't know how I felt about that one, it was a great story as usual but some of tyne books where Camille narrates includes what I think is an overabundance of sex, which is not bad but sometimes Yasmine goes into an abundance of detail, I'm personally more about the action and the overall story I'm a former SF operator I know what it's like to use sex in that nature, I like it when a lot of it is left to the imagination. I do lid how she describes it sometimes. That does not detract from my overall love of this series, it is absolutely amazing the way she combines all the creatures and races of lore! I wish we'd see some Druids and these Keraster Knights, I love when knights that are pledged to honor are involved. I'm starting the next one now, see too on the next review...RobTags : Amazon.com: Demon Mistress (Otherworld, Book 6) (9780425228647): Yasmine Galenorn: Books,Yasmine Galenorn,Demon Mistress (Otherworld, Book 6),Berkley,0425228649,Romance - Paranormal,Love stories.,Occult fiction.,Vampires;Fiction.,AMERICAN LIGHT ROMANTIC FICTION,AMERICAN SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY,FICTION Romance Contemporary,FICTION Romance Fantasy,FICTION Romance Paranormal General,Fantasy,Fiction,Fiction - Romance,Fiction-Romance,General Adult,Love stories,MASS MARKET,Monograph Series, 1st,Occult fiction,Romance - Paranormal - General,RomanceGeneral,United States,Vampires, paranormal romance;romance;contemporary romance;romance novels;fantasy romance;romance books;ghost;fiction;novels;fiction books;books fiction;romance novel;romance book;romantic novels;contemporary romance books;urban fantasy;paranormal;fantasy;vampires;witches;magic;demons;supernatural;werewolves;angels;vampire;mystery;dragons;ghosts;anthology;thrillers;horror;thriller books;mythology;werewolf;shifters;science fiction;angel;short stories;fairies;dark fantasy;love;zombies;fantasy books;adventure, vampires; urban fantasy; romance; demons; paranormal romance; witches; fantasy romance; vampire; magic; supernatural; werewolf; werewolves; suspense; contemporary romance; romantic suspense; action; angels; ghosts; thrillers; thriller; mythology; romance novels; fiction books; fiction; romance books; mystery; anthology; thriller books; urban; paranormal mystery; angel; short stories; love; murder; witch; adventure; psychic; urban fiction; alpha male; dragon; demon; drama; djinn; angels and demons; superheroes; urban books; love story
Demon Mistress Otherworld Book 6 Yasmine Galenorn Books Reviews
I love Yasmine 's otherworld series I have several of the books and plan to get more. This one is just as good as the first
We delve more into vampire society here and start to get to know Roman, vampire prince. We're still continuing the battle against Shadow Wing, but we're still picking up more and interesting characters on the way.
I feel Menolly was shortchanged a little in this one. Her first book was so intense and riveting that this one seems like a picnic.
I would have liked more intrigue and mystery in this one. I think Dante's Hellions could have been a much stronger plot part and enemy. I expect there will be at least 3 more books before this series ends and I hope Yasmin returns to the much tighter and sharper writing of the first 5. Still, I like Menolly and she's become a more intriguing character than when we met her in the first 2 books.
I suggest you read the previous five books in order before taking this book on (Witchling, Changeling, Darkling, Dragon Wytch and Night Huntress). Menolly is my favorite out of the sisters. She is tough, cynical and the least bratty. If you are a fan of the Otherworld series you won't be disappointed with this book. Menolly and the gang investigate the kidnapping of an elf women and a vampiress. Simultaneously, Chase has his hands full with unsupervised ghouls. A fraternity house full of amateur necromancers is unleashing chaos on the Fae and Elvin community. There is plenty of action and intrigue to make this one of the best book of the Otherworld series. However, I must say, I hate the sex scenes this author writes in for the sisters. They seem so non-eventful, unnecessary, boring, and passionless. I do however, recommend this book and the entire series. I also look forward to the next book Bone Magic due out 1/15/2010.
I also recommend
Witch Blood (Elemental Witches, Book 2)
Salt and Silver
Storm Born (Dark Swan, Book 1)
ReVamped (Void City, Book 2)
Magic in the Blood (Allie Beckstrom)
I love this entire series! Once you pick one up you can't put it down! I have heard some reviews that complain about the amount of sex in the book, but what can one expect from a paranormal romance? I find all the characters captivating and the stories well written, though sometimes repetitive as they recap story line from previous in the series. Though that does make it possible to pick one up in the middle of the series and be able to still follow. But I definitely suggest reading the whole series!!
With so many authors doing ripoffs of more well known authors and other writers just devolving to sex and shock, I love getting new Otherworld books. Yasmine's reliable. She tells a good story with a plot that needs resolution, antagonists and protagonists that kick butt and her world is well thought out even though she's juggling 3 very different main characters in this series and does each sister's voice in first person.
My favorite sister is Camille because I identify most with her, but after this second arc in her Otherworld series, I'm really starting to love Menolly a lot more too, and this book was just perfect.
Menolly finds the diary of a previous fae bartender which makes her wonder what happened to her, she finds out she disappeared, at the same time, there is a new demonic threat that's attacking the fae and attacks her sister. With the help of her sisters and a lot of great male characters, they find out what's going on and kick butt.
So, this description sounds like it could be another popular series? No. The men are not arm and eye candy, they are strong in their own right, and Menolly is not sleeping her way through them. The whole series handles relationships in a matter of fact way instead of trying to titillate and shock you with them. It's part of what I love about it so much, it's more mature then that. The focus is on the story and how the relationships affect the characters and the story.
Start with the beginning and read through to the end. This series clued me into her books and she's a solid mystery writer. Clues and information to find things out instead of stumbling into answers accidentally and her skill at weaving the stories make them very enjoyable.
Menolly was decided to turn the up stairs rooms into sort of motel for OtherWorld guests. She and Iris were get rid of some stuff in the rooms. Where she and Iris discover. Some ones belongings here. It was like she suddenly disappear. And left her clothes. And dairy. Thou she couldn't read because. It was in a elfish language. She and her sisters discover. The owner was missing. And nobody wonder why. Some believe that she returned home. But that didn't make sense. Because she would return for her things.
Then Menolly was trying to find what happen to her. And then discover a bunch of college fraternity boy. Wanted to play sorcerer for real. She problem and first of many sacrifice to a monster demon. And created a demons gate. Sort of portal to the underworld.
