Darkness Light War of the Fae Book 3 eBook Elle Casey

Things have gotten more intense, but I'm three books in and Jayne is still a major pain in the ass. At first it was one of her charms, a teen who refused to fit into anyone's ideal cookie-cutter and did what she thought was best. She won me over in the first book and the plot was exciting. The last installment brought me into the world she too was submerged in, and I was intrigued. This installment got darker, with her and the Light Fae finding out just how intense this war truly is.

I was entertained and I love Jayne's stubbornness, but it's become a little annoying mostly because it's pointless mistakes that could've been avoided. She doesn't seem to do things because she thinks it's the right to do, but rather because she 'just feels like it'. Nothing wrong with a girl doing what she wants, and I find her slight sadism to be amusing. Another thing, however, that personally rubbed me the wrong way, was her naivity with the Dark Fae. She assumes light is good and dark is bad, and I kinda thought she was smarter than this. I'm going to assume it's just her age, and blame her inexperience with the world.

There feels like there's romance bubbling up but it's not present. Like, I KNOW it's trying to come up, with the way she looks twice at her guy friends, but it's a bit awkward for me. I don't know. Maybe I'm too old for the intended target of audience (I'm 22). Jayne speaks like an adult, but everything else she does portrays a young teen with... er, not exactly the right type of character one would wish had the power she does. She's rough around the edges for sure, and while it's a sort of charm, there's only so much I can take before I wonder when she's going to grow up as a character.

Darkness Light War of the Fae Book 3 eBook Elle Casey Reviews

Entertaining from beginning to end. Jayne and friends continue to go from adventure to adventure which always lands them in trouble. First, they discover that the dark fae are out to recruit Tony , Jayne's best friend who decided not to become fae. But to do so means breaking like a trillion fae laws. Not that Jayne would let a little thing like rules and laws stand in the way of saving her friend from the bad guys. They face off against Ben, the fire elemental who has befriended Tony in order to lure Jayne to him. Jayne successfully extracts Tony but that is just the start of the battle. How can she get the light fae to accept him? How can they battle the dark fae and why? Read to find out.
Another page turner from Elle Casey! I would have finished it sooner but everyday life got in the way -)
Elle has a way of holding the readers attention and making you care so much about the characters that you can't help but cry when something sad happens (as it does at one point in this book, but I won't spoil it for you) and laughing out loud during others. I love the irreverant main character. She says all the things I wish I had the nerve to say, but can't. I find myself thinking about the characters while I'm trying to go to sleep at night, while on a run, and while at work. And just wishing that I could get back to it. It's just one of those stories that grips you from start to finish and leaves you wanting more. I really, really, really am enjoying this series! So much so that as soon as I finished this third book I immediately picked up the fourth and final one for uninterrupted reading.
Thanks Elle, for sharing your imagination through your stories. I am a contented reader and a new fan.
This is actually a good analogy if the US civil war. The Light & Dark have 2 fundamentally different philosophies of how to be in the world. Is it safer to hide from the gum and & use them in secret? Or would it be better to be known & a force of power in the world at large?

The hardest part of this book for me was Chase. Books 2&3 he is the damsel in distress. He's such a good guy--I want better for him. But I guess such are the spoils of war good guys get hurt, bad guys escape & no one really gets what they want.

This is a well-written book. Jayne struggles to handle her power, understand the politics of a war that's been brewing for centuries? All of time? And, I think, beginning to understand that it isn't possible to just call "them" the bad guys and think that everything is settled.
Things are definetly starting to heat up in Darkness and Light Book 3 of War of the Fae. The fist two books dealt with Jayne and her friends finding out they were Fae and dealt with their training and how they reacted to finding themselves in an extrodinary world with extroidinary powers. In Book 3 they're still training but the additon of Jayne's best friend to the Fae really amps up the level of that training and things start to heat up as the war between Light and Dark ignites.

I enjoyed the first two books alot and this one didn't disappoint. Jayne is still Jayne, crude language and all. Tim is still a crazy pixie with bad gas and all of their friends continue to evolve, grow and change (some in not so good of ways). This book was a little more intense than the last two due to certain events that take place along with the brewing war but as always the way Jayne deals with every situation is so much fun. I like that not all of my questions have been answered yet and I cannot wait to see what happens next. I also really enjoy that these stories are not predictable. I have no idea what's going to happen next most of the time and anything and everything can and will happen. It really keeps you on your toes. The writing is superb and Mrs. Casey really has a way with words. There's just something special about this series that brings a smile to my face, it's impossible to have a bad day after reading them (maybe they have some type of pixie spell on them?).
These books just keep it where I can't put them down. Need to at times as I do need to do things, but it sure makes it hard. Just love all the funny parts. I love the characters. I wish they would make movies out of these books as they would be great, and I am tired of remakes. More great authors like this are needed. Laughter and the thoughtfulness of parts of the book are needed. Elle Casey is a great writer. Have ordered the rest of the books and the pre-order of 10. Have gotten the first of series of a few others as I am sure I will love them too.
